My father Joseph Azzarello passed away on Sept. 18, 2020, from stage four Melanoma. My father was not very fond of going to the doctors and had no idea anything was wrong. His cancer originated from a mole on his lower back and it had been there for years. We unfortunately found out about his cancer diagnosis very late in the game when it spread. My father passed away just one and a half years after his diagnosis. I want his story to be a lesson to everyone who is reluctant to go the doctor. Stay informed and make sure to go for your yearly check ups. You know your body and if something feels off please make that appointment. It can save your life and the lives of those you love.

This cause is important for me to educate others on the dangers of melanoma and how easily it can be treated if caught early.
