Great Neck School District’s Miles For Melanoma Walk

                     Students Teaching Others Prevention

CCMAC in association with the Great Neck Public School System, Ms. Kathy Walters, coordinator of Health Education at Great Neck North and Ms. Jennifer Dipalo, Health Education Teacher at Great Neck North and their many dedicated students have hosted Miles for Melanoma Walks in the past three years and have scheduled the fourth Walk for May, 16th, 2004. The walk is part of CCMAC’s school based “S.T.O.P.”, Students Teaching Others Prevention initiative, in which Mrs. Coyne presents the dangers of unprotected sun exposure to high school students in health classes throughout the metropolitan area.

Refreshments, and of course sun block are provided to all who attend. Last year we were able to provide a free raffle, and distributed Music CD’s to a lucky few. We thank station manager, Frankie Blue of WKTU – FM for their generous and continuous support of CCMACs mission. All walkers receive a T-Shirt and a hat to help protect themselves from the suns rays, and Be Sun Smart!
